he said quietly as he entered her room. "How are you feeling? Do you need anything?" He came in and kissed her. "I called everyone. My parents, Dee, Sean, and Ashley said they're on their way. Your parents said they'll come tomorrow." Within a few minutes, the nurse returned with their daughter. She was all cleaned and wrapped up in her white blanket. "Have you decided what you're going to name her," the nurse asked. Brendan looked over at Maddie to see if she had made up her mind. They had tossed around a few names. It took a while to figure out names because they needed to come up with names for both sex. Maddie insisted on keeping the gender of the baby a secret until the birth. [/ul][/blockquote]

he greeted his best friend. He walked into the room and gave Brendan a hug. "Hey, Maddie. How you doing?" Shane hugged Maddie. "Congradulations, man," Shane patted Brendan on the back. Then, he looked down at the baby. It was crazy to think that girl shared the same DNA as Brendan. From the color of the blanket and the tag on the cart told him it was a girl. If Brendan's treatment and behavior towards his younger sisters were any indications of how he might treat his new daughter, the girl was going to need a lot of luck. "The kid look good. Are you sure you're the father?" Shane gave him a cheeky smile. He loved busting Brendan's chop. "Ashley's here, too. She went to get something really quick."[/ul][/blockquote]

she greeted as she adjusted herself to be sitting up now. "Mmmm, I'm fine. Thanks." Maddie knew that she would have to enjoy the quiet moments she had. Eventually, Brendan's family would come in and crowd the hospital room. The nurse came in with the baby and Maddie was now alert. She didn't think that she would be able to care for anyone like the baby. There had been a few names tossed around, but she knew as soon as she saw the baby she knew what to call her. Maddie reached out for the baby and took a hold of her. She looked up at Brendan who was waiting and expecting her to answer. "Well, I was thinking about Alexis," she said looking back down at the baby. "Alexis Mary O'Donnell." Maddie thought it flowed nicely, but she wanted to see what Brendan thought of the name. Then, another person entered the room. "Hey, Shane," she greeted her boyfriend's best friend. "A little tired. Wanna hold the baby?" Maddie moved over so that Shane could carry Alexis. Maddie was actually happy that Ashley was here first. She seemed to be the only one of Brendan's family members that she actually got along with. It would be nice to start the visitation with someone friendly. [/ul][/blockquote]

she greeted everyone in the room. She saw the baby in Maddie's arms and immediately placed the flowers and bear on the nightstand. Then, she turned and hugged Brendan. "Don't give Shane the baby. He wouldn't know what to do. Let me hold the baby." She put her arms out and took a hold of the baby. "She's so adorable. She actually looks like the both of you." Ashley looked back up at Brendan and Ashley and smiled. The baby had a mixture of the both of her parents. She had Maddie's chin and cheekbones, but she definitely had Brendan's lips and nose. "What's her name?" Ashley couldn't wait to spoil this baby. "Did you want anything? Shane go get some water for Ashley." She could only assume her parents and other siblings were coming. So Brendan had a kid, a little girl no less. Oh man, this was going to be hard to get over. Her big brother was a father....ever since Dee had come back from Ireland, she'd somewhat mellowed out. She didn't fight with Brendan so much, it just didn't make sense. His overwhelming presence no longer annoyed her. Hell, it almost felt nice, to have Brendan around. Though she had to admit....Sean was still her favorite older brother, she was warming up to Brendan. She'd been seeing the guy in a different light; he could be sweet and stuff when he wanted to. She watched it when he was around a very hormonal Maddie. Dee had even started being nice to Maddie of all people, the girl who just a few short months ago she had been forced to vacation with. Having received the news that Maddie had given birth, and that both mother and baby were perfectly fine, the O'Donnell's headed over to the hospital. Da and Mama headed over in one car, and Dee opted to ride with Sean, since Ashley was already there. Of course, Sean being Sean, he told her to be on her best behavior.
Dee had no problem doing so, she even made Sean stop at a store and picked up a great big bouquet of flowers for Maddie, and while they were in the lobby, she ran into the gift store for balloons and a tiny pink teddy bear for the baby. Was it weird, that she was excited about being an aunt? Well, excited and nervous and tired all at the same time. She seemed to get tired a lot lately. She hadn't talked to Jesse in a few days, and that worried her. Maybe that's why she'd been silent from the time they had left the house to the time she found and walked into Maddie's room. Sean had stayed down stairs to wait for their parents. "Knock Knock." She said playfully as she came into the room with the things in her hands, "Well, I see its a party in here, in honor of the newest O'Donnell." She set the flowers on Maddie's night stand and showed her a small smile, "Congratulations Madison." Dee said and meant it.
After setting down the balloons and walking over to Brendan, she kissed his cheek; which was very freaky for her, and smiled at him too. "You too Brendan." After that was done, she edged away and towards Ashley so she could get a look at the baby. "Of course you'd bet me to it." She smirked at Ashley as she wiggled her fingers at the little finger tucked safely in her older sister's grasp, "Da and Mama are taking a long time to get here, so Sean's downstairs waiting for them." She announced to no one in particular as she stood behind Ashley and watched the baby. It was then that she looked over and noticed it wasn't just O'Donnell's present, "Hey Shane."

he said as he leaned down and kissed Maddie's forehead. He was the first to hold his daughter and that was a proud moment for him. Who would have known that someone like Brendan could ever make something as precious as Alexis? Brendan rubbed Maddie's back as he admired the baby even more. Eventually, a familiar person popped in. Brendan didn't think that the first person to arrive would be his best friend. "Hey, man," he said happily. "You made it here fast. You're the first person here!" Brendan couldn't stop grinning. color=cadetblue]"Hey," Brendan said as he punched Shane's arm playfully. "What it, man! Don't make me make you a patient here!" He laughed because he knew that Shane was kidding. There was no doubt about Alexis's paternity. Brendan was her father. He never doubted it for a moment. Brendan didn't even blink at the fact that Shane and Ashley arrived together. But, then again, it made logical sense. They were both at the pub. They carpooled. Nothing wrong with that. Brendan was surprised Maddie was going to allow Shane to hold their daughter. "Are you sure about that," he joked. Then, Ashley entered the room and basically repeated what Brendan said. At least with Ashley, Brendan felt a little more relaxed. After all, Ashley did have some experience holding a baby. "Next time, dude," he said as he playfully shoved Shane. Dee entered the room next. They had their little dispute but what siblings didn't. However, after she came back, she was starting to make an effort to be nicer. "I think we decided on Alexis. Alexis Mary O'Donnell. What do you guys think?" It was his kid, but he still wanted everyone's opinion on the name.
