It was one thing to come back to NJ because she wanted to, but to be told that she had to upset Dee more than she could put into words. What didn't her family get about her "taking a leave of absence" she didn't want to be here. She didn't want to have to deal with people whom she didn't like in the first place, telling her what to do. That went double for her family, since they had taken a liking to telling the now nineteen year old that she had to be certain places at certain times. It only made sense to Dee that she should go away for a while. Being abducted was traumatic enough, even her father agreed to let her go, though they were both more than a little hesitant when she refused to have anyone else go with her.


She could have had her picks of body guards, but none of them would let her do as she pleased. Or rather....none of them would be Jesse. During her four month absence, she had kept some sort of connection with the others. She called and texted Sean and Ashley everyday. Once in a while, she would annoy Brendan with a phone call to see how he and Maddie and the baby were doing. It was interesting, what the prospect of a new life could do to people. She had always had issues with Brendan, he being the oldest and she being the youngest. They had never seen eye to eyes; but in the last few months, she had felt the need to reach out to him. Odd as it was, she found that she could actually tolerate the guy a little more every time she talked to him. Maybe he still thought she was a spoiled brat, but after what they had gone through, she thought it best to push the negative aside. Besides, she was going to be an Aunt, and she couldn't go around being a bitch where there was going to be a cute little baby around.

Dee's flight arrived a little earlier than she had thought it would. Nevertheless, she phoned the house and left a message with someone, letting them know she was indeed back in town. Waiting around to be picked up would have annoyed her too much, she instead, she headed for something to eat. Ireland had been too beautiful to put into words, and she had an amazing time bonding with family she hadn't seen since she was much younger. Kicking her suite case so that it rolled behind her with ease, despite how large it was, Abaigeal headed towards the airport McDonalds for something to much on. Not being too much of a big eater, she ordered fries and a shake. She was tired and jet lagged, so she pulled out her cell phone and scrolled through it for a while before pulling out her ipod and popping in the head phones. She supposed the music was a bit too loud, as she didn't hear anyone come up behind her.

[/color][/b] she said loudly, but not too loudly to grab everyone's attention. Cadence didn't exactly get along with the O'Donnell's - excluding Brendan, of course. The stupid little family rivalry made Cadence instinctively dislike the O'Donnells. So, when she saw the opportunity to be a bitch to the youngest O'Donnell, how could she pass that up?

The voice made her almost jump out of her skin. True, the music was loud, but the moment she chose to turn it down so that she could go and get her food, was the moment whoever was behind her decided to make that comment. She frowned a little, looking back and almost freezing in her spot. Damn, the universe really did want to fuck her over today didn't it. Trying to keep the frown off her face, she shoved the ipod into the pockets of her jeans and put on a sickly sweet smile. "Its a pleasure to see you too Cadence." One of the things she had learned while she had been gone, was that she had to act like she got along with someone, even if she hated their guts. This whole thing about between their families of course made them instantly dislike each other.

Or was it just the fact that this specific Wong was a serious bitch? She had never really liked her, not even when she had been dating Brendan. She had been so happy when Da had put the pressure on him to either break up with her or leave. Though she knew the older woman could not stand her either, Dee could honestly say that she had ever really given her a shot. Her last name alone had been enough to make Abby want to stab her. Oh well. Ignorance was bliss, so maybe if she just ignored the retarded behavior, she would drop it. Then again, knowing the Wong's....she might just keep it up until Dee snapped and slugged her. Trying to be sweet and mature all the time got on her nerves. Though she did promise Da that she would at least try it. With an inward sigh, she moved forward in the line, paying for her food and waiting for it to be brought to her.

[/color][/b] she responded, sounding as if she was already bored of this little exchange. "Back in Jersey, I see. So, where did you go? I heard you ran away with someone that worked for your family." Oh how pathetic was that? Seriously, teenage rebellion was so over the top. When she rebelled as a teenager, she dated Brendan. But, those days were behind her now.

As soon as Dee moved out of the way, Cadence moved up and made her order. A small number four. It was the same thing she always got every time she went to McDonalds. She paid the kid behind the counter and move aside, waiting for her food with Dee. "So, how's the family?" She only cared so that she could catch up on any gossip going on in town. It was important for her father to always know what the other three families were doing.

Being that their families were mortal enemies, it made it sort of hard for Dee to remember to play nice with the woman behind her. The attitude and the tone of voice she was using wasn't helping Dee either. Bitting the inside of her cheek, she made herself stay quiet when Cadence replied to her. Really now, was it so hard to at least act pleasant? Even if they did hate each other's guts automatically, they could at least pretend to be decent to each other in public. Or so Dee had been taught....though she was finding it a little harder to do with each passing second that she felt Cadence presence behind her. Dee was just a tad bit paranoid that she was going to get stabbed in the back or something like that from the older woman. Though, if you were her, could you have blamed her? The Ice Queen was doing a perfect job of shotting sharp and cold things are her, so it would only made sense to be a tad bit cautious. Dee shifted so that her side was facing Cadence and her back was not turned; she was already tired of trying to make nice, but when Cadence began to pry, she could feel what was left of her little bit of patience wearing thin.

"Yeah, I'm back in Jersey. Bit of a vacation, since I graduated and all."[/color] The next that came out of Cadence's mouth made Dee almost cringe. But damn, news spread like wild fire in such a little town. And when the news was about the daughter of a powerful and well connected man, it spread even faster. "You should really check your sources. Obviously, I'm by myself."[/color] Maybe it had been a bit of a dumb move, to admit that she was alone at the moment. Her father had always taught her not to show weakness, and Dee was surprised that she had kept a poker face for so long. But she was determined to make sure that Jesse's name stayed out of people's mouths. People like this witch standing next to her. "Family's just peachy Wong. How's yours?"[/color] As if Dee had actually been told anything that was going on. Besides the fact that Brendan was going to be a dad soon, and she figured that Cadence didn't need to know that.

[/color][/b] she said, cocking an eyebrow. ”Graduated from elementary school? Wow, that’s quite the present. I didn’t receive a gift that nice.” Cadence then reached into her purse and searched for her phone. She had to see if her brother called or texted her. What was keeping him so long? When she got home, she would have flipped out on him and give him a piece of her mind. She was definitely going to tell her father about this. The next time she goes on a business trip, Cadence was not going to ask her brother to pick her up.

”The family’s well,” she said with a fake smile. ”I didn’t know you cared so much baby O’Donnell.” The food order finally came up and she picked up her tray. The smile slowly faded away. ”How’s Brendan’s girlfriend? Mandy or something? I heard she was pregnant.” Cadence was completely gutted when she found out about the baby. She really didn’t know why she cared. It had been a while since she had been with Brendan and it really shouldn’t matter what Brendan did with her life.
