he said as he closed the door behind him. "I bought food like you told me, too." Maddie was sitting in the living room in front of the television. Brendan handed the bag to Maddie as he took a seat next to her. He kissed her, and then, he kissed her stomach. "Hey, baby," he said to the stomach. Then, he looked up at Maddie. "How are you feeling? Want something to drink?" Brendan settled into the couch. count: 294 tag: Maddie [/ul][/blockquote]

she cheered. "Food! I'm starving! What took you so long?" She reached out for the food, not even caring to give Brendan a proper greeting. As soon as Brendan handed her the bag, she quickly took the food out and started eating the pickles first. He even remembered to pack extra pickles. Brendan really was the best. She kissed him and munched away happily as he greeted their baby. Madison wanted to keep the gender of the baby a secret, to make it a surprise. It was two weeks late and she really couldn't wait to have the baby out of her. "I would feel better if the baby was out of me already," Maddie sighed as she started to eat her fries. "Could you get me some ice tea? And, ketchup for the fries. Thanks, Brend." Maddie smiled and kissed him. count; 223tag; brendan[/ul][/blockquote]

he said as he walked into the kitchen and got some ice tea in a cup of ice. Then, he grabbed the ketchup out of the fridge. He returned with her drink and condiment. "I can't wait for the baby to come out," he said as he continued to rub her stomach. "Then, maybe you won't be so moody." Brendan took some fries and sat back on the couch and ate the fries. she said as she took another bite. Then, he said something stupid that made her look over to see if he was kidding. when she saw he was sitting back and enjoying her french fries, Maddie had to react. Maddie slapped him hard across his chest. "Oh, I am so sorry that my pregnancy is annoying you," she said putting the burger down. "I want you to remember how I got into this position in the first place. You put this baby in me. It's taking a little longer than nine months for this baby to pop out. So, I'm sorry if I'm moody! It comes with the pregnancy." Maddie tried to get up from the couch, but beign this big was making it difficult for her to get up. She struggled, but finally made it up. While they were on the subject: "I didn't even want this baby, Brendan. But, it's a little too late to change things now. You were so happy when you found out. Everyone was so happy! Even your father, who is never happy! Everyone was too happy to even notice that I was never happy."It was a horrible thing for her to say. Maddie knew that. What kind of a mother say things like that about her unborn child. It was all the proof she needed to know she was unfit to be a mother. Why did this have to happen to her? Maddie made her way into the kitchen to bring out the entire pitcher of ice tea. count; 281 [/ul][/blockquote]

he cried out. What did he do or say this time? He sat up on the couch and before he was able to get in another word, Maddie flipped out. She was another one of her moments. Brendan did his best to be patient and list silently. "Maddie that's not what I meant," Brendan said weakly. He sighed deeply and rubbed his temple. "I know, I know, I'm sorry." Maddie was trying to get up, and he saw her struggling. "What are you doing?" Brendan put a hand out and tried to help her up. Eventually, she got up and he got up with her. Brendan followed Maddie but stopped when she started talking again. Brendan couldn't believe the words that were coming out of her mouth. This was the first time he had heard her say this, but he just chalked it up as hormones. Maddie didn't mean that. How could any mother mean that. "Maddie, you're just upset," he said walking towards her. He reached out for her, but then she finished her spew. He was actually concerned. "Wait, wait," Brendan said trying to get her to stop. "Maddie, you can't just say things like that. Okay? I know you're upset and you're tired of carrying the baby around longer than you thought. But, you can't say things like that. I know you don't mean that." Brendan sighed again and pulled Maddie into a hug. Those were not things he wanted his child's mother to be saying, especially to him. [/ul][/blockquote]

she said pushing him away. "Yes, I'm upset and I'm sick and tired of caring this baby. But, I was being honest. I'm sorry if that's not what you watned to hear the mother of your hcild to be saying, but I'm just syaing how I really felt. I hate this." She pointed to her stomach. "I never wanted this." Suddenly, as if on cue, there was a shot of pain to her stomach. Maddie grabbed her stomach with one hand and took a hold of Brendan with her other hand. She needed to balance herself because the pain was too much for her to stand on her two feet. Then, the pain slowly faded. For a minute, Maddie was actually worried about the baby. Then, she realized what that pain was. Maddie's eyes went wide and looked up at Brendan. "I think I'm going into labor, Brendan." A few minutes later, she received another shot of pain. Another contraction. "Ow, Brendan! I think the baby's coming now. We have to go to the hospital. Grab my ready bag." There was another shot. The contractions weren't that far apart anymore. However, as soon as she went to reach for the phone to call the hospital her water broke. Now they really needed to go to the hospital. count; 275 [/ul][/blockquote]

Suddenly Maddie cried out in pain and reached out to hold onto Maddie. "Maddie? Are you okay? Is it the baby?""The baby's coming now," he asked as he switched into panic mode. "Are you sure?" For some reason he froze. No one told him how to prepare for a moemnt liek this. "The bag. Right. Are you going to be okay by yourself?" Brendan made sure she was stable before turning to run to their room. He knew Maddie packed a bag for her to go to the hospital. Brendan grabbed the bag and rushed out of the room. He had the car keys in his hand. When he came to Maddie, he looked down to see a puddle of water by her feet. Brendan looked up at Maddie wondering what the water was. It didn't matter. They had to go to the hospital. "Okay, Maddie, can you walk? We have to get to the car." He wrapped an arm around her and tried to help her out of the apartment. "We can call the hospital on our way there," he said as he hit the button to the elevator. "How far apart are you? Are you okay?" They made it down to his car in a few minutes. As soon as they were both secured int he car, Brendan pulled out of the garage. It was a good thing there wasn't a cop around to see him drive 30 over the limit and run almost every other red light. The baby was finally coming. Took long enough. [/ul][/blockquote]

she said as she continued to hold onto her stomach. Now that she realized the baby was coming, she was actually not ready for this. She was actually scared. Yet, she semed to be the only one with a straight head on her shoulder. "Brendan, calm down. I can't have you panicking!" It wasn't good for her or for the baby. They made it down to his car and she already started the breathing excercises she was taught in those classes Brendan's sister insisted her and Brendan attend. "I think about five minutes," she answered Brendan. "How do you think I'm doing you asshole? I'm in labor!" Maddie continued to breathe. Brendan was driving awfully fast. "Can you slow down," she yelled at him. "You know most car accidents happened on the way to the hospital. So, please slow down." She held onto the door handle and it was actually making it dificult for her to breathe in a calm, rhythmic manner. She made a call to the hospital to let them know of her arrival. Within a few minutes, they arrived at the hospital. The pain was starting to get unbearable. There was a nurse with a wheelchair waiting for Maddie up front. As soon as she got out of the car, she sat in the chair and they rushed her to the delivery room. [/ul][/blockquote]
